Welcome to Utah, Welcome to Utah.

I moved in exactly a month ago! Wow time has flown, but the past four weeks I have had a lot of thoughts about things I wish someone had mentioned before I got to college. You know things other than "buy shower shoes" and "join clubs".  One of the biggest things is in college you meet so many people it is physically IMPOSSIBLE to remember all of their names (so don't worry if you have to ask four times).

You will also memorize your speech for the only five questions you will discuss with your new friends. It goes a little like this.

1. Whats your name?

This one is the easiest, Tailor Zollinger. Except since I moved to Cache Valley where there is a Zollinger dairy farm, Zollinger apple orchard, Zollinger wheat farm, and Zollinger cold storage. So 89% of the people I meet ask, "do you know..." and the answer is usually, "....no"

2. Where are you from?

Again this one is pretty simple, Phoenix, Arizona. Yet again there is another classic response, "Whoa, isn't it like really hot there!" Yes it is hot in Arizona. I really enjoys people reactions when I tell them I have never experienced a snowy winter. They usually maliciously laugh and and go " Oh just you wait you have a real treat in store for you"

3. Whats your major?

This one is fun you meet so many interesting people studying so many interesting things. I am a Deaf education major.

4. Where are you living?

Its a real treat to meet someone who lives in the same hall as you or somewhere close. It makes it so much easier to be friends with  someone when they don't live a mile away.  (Also if you meet a guy and he lives in the Factory, snatch him up. The Factory is SO nice.)

5. Why did you move to Utah?

I really don't like this question. I the truth is such a LONG story and I haven't quite figured out how to condense it into a short and sweet sentence. When I was 14 I visited Logan, Utah for the first time. While I was here Utah stole my heart and I felt like I was home. I had never felt home somewhere like I did on my grandpa's farm in the cache valley gazing up at the Utah Mountains. And now,  I'm here.
